Ages 4-7 32 pages Harpercollins December 2014 Paperback

Batman knows something is wrong when he sees snow fall from the sky on a hot day. It’s confirmed on the Batcomputer: The Ice Pack is back.

Batman arrives in Gotham City in this Batmobile only to be fired at by Mr. Freeze. Captain Cold and Killer Frost want to help Mr. Freeze start another Ice Age, but with the help of The Flash and Wonder Woman, the superheroes are able to contain the villains under a manhole cover.

This Level 2 easy reader (high interest stories for developing readers) begins and ends with a glimpse of Bruce Wayne and his butler inside Wayne Manor. The rest of the story (and action) is illustrated in a snowy Gotham City. Dialogue such as “not a snowball’s chance,” “chill,” and “it’s time to put an end to this cold spell” complement the Ice Pack’s appearance and behaviors. A two-page introduction to the six main characters will help children not familiar with the Batman series.
