If only figuring out boys was as easy as predicting the weather. In the third “Sisters Club” novel by Judy Moody creator Megan McDonald, Stevie Reel is about to discover that relating to the opposite sex can be a bit of an ordeal.

Up to now, Stevie hasn’t been much interested in hanging out with the boys, but suddenly the dynamics of her school class are in flux. Couples are beginning to pair off, and a new boy in her school has set his sights on being Stevie’s boyfriend.

Although her older sister, Alex, is conniving to cement a romantic relationship with a boy in her class, Stevie’s younger sister, Joey, much prefers frogs to boys - and at this point, Stevie gravitates more towards Joey’s position.

It looks like Stevie is going to have to get through this new dilemma in her young life pretty much on her own since she seems to be caught at home between the two extremes. Of course she will, and how she does makes for a very entertaining read for girls eight years old and up.

The first two stories in this new series, The Sisters Club and Rule of Three, have attracted quite a few young readers. Cloudy with a Chance of Boys will certainly add to the positive attention the Reel sisters are receiving!
