Baby-PreK 26 pages Robin Corey Books May 2009 Board book

It is amazing how some smart text and charming illustrations can make a child’s simple request for a glass of milk such an enjoyable experience. Milo's Special Words is a sturdy interactive book that teaches children about the magic words please and thank you within the context of this exercise.

When Milo and Lucy decide they want a glass of milk, Mommy seems to be so focused on her laundry that she doesn’t hear their request (at this point, young readers can spin the rotating wheel on the side of the book to help her drop the dirty clothes into the overflowing basket). When the little ones decide a magic word might be what is needed to elicit a response, another spinning wheel reveals such options as hocus-pocus and shazam. The remainder of the book shows how the two young children learn about the amazing power of please and thank you.

Milo's Special Words is sweet story that delivers an important message in an appealing package. It’s a great way to both educate and entertain and makes a wonderful additional to any child’s library.
