The Random House Book of Bible Stories
by Mary Pope Osborne and Natalie Pope Boyce, illustrated by Michael Welply
Grades 2-5 176 pages Random House September 2009 Hardcover

From Adam and Eve to Noah and the Crucifixion, this elegant tome covers all of the favorite stories from the Bible.

Written by the bestselling author of the famed “Magic Tree House” series, Mary Pope Osborne, along with her sister, Natalie Pope Boyce, author of the “Magic Tree House” research guides, this is the Bible at its best for those who aren’t quite ready to tackle the real thing.

Add to the mix the wonderfully detailed artwork of the talented Michael Welply, and you’ve got a forever-classic on your hands. This is one that will stay on the shelf for years to come.

However, when purchasing The Random House Book of Bible Stories, keep the age range in mind. This version is a bit heavy on text, which may be a bit too difficult for your littlest ones to comprehend, along with multiple expanses devoid of illustration.

Although this is a well put-together volume, it doesn’t work for all ages.
